PAULA VARSALONA TRUNK SHOW JAN 16th – Jan 18th
Book Your Appointment View the Collection
Paula Varsalona, internationally recognized as one of the leading couturier designers of bridal apparel, has been a leader in the fashion industry for over 30 years. As the designer and manufacturer of Paula Varsalona Ltd. collections, Ms. Varsalona offers unique and personalized fashion statements for any bride from first love to the in – love again bride.
Originally from Kansas City, MO. Varsalona received her B.F.A. in Fashion Design, from Washington University in St. Louis, going on to found her own bridal fashion house in 1975 in New York City. Although known for her bridal fashion collections, Ms. Varsalona has also designed a complete line of debutante gowns and special occasion gowns along with some special requests for children party dresses.
Attention to detail is Paula Varsalona’s signature, and it is evident in the quality and craftsmanship of a Paula Varsalona gown. Hand-rolled organdy flowers, the finest silk and imported alencon lace are just a few of the distinctive touches that are part of the gowns in her collection.
Ms. Varsalona’s New York City showroom, in the heart of the fashion district, is a visual bridal fantasy, adorned with photographs from the many magazines that have featured her collections throughout the years. It is in this showroom, that Paula Varsalona meets with the buyers from such exclusive retailers as New York’s famous Kleinfeld, and elite private specialty shops from around the globe.
Although Paula Varsalona is indeed “wedded to the world of bridal wear,” her busy social life often finds her at such glamorous galas as an art opening featuring works by the versatile Anthony Quinn. At these parties, she is inevitably asked if she is an actress or model, to which she quips, “No, but they wear my clothes,” adding that celebrities are among the many women who walk down the aisle in Varsalona gowns.
Paula Varsalona is a veritable who’s who, having been listed in “Who’s Who in American Women,” Who’s Who In The East,” and “Who’s Who In Society.” Her face is recognized from coast to coast from the numerous television appearances she makes in conjunction with her trunk shows. Ms. Varsalona is also a member of the BBAA (Bridal and Bridesmaid Association of America), and a board member of the IBMA (International Bridal Manufaturers Association). Ms. Varsalona also serves as Recoding Secretary of UNICO National Montville Chapter and a board member of the Montville UNICO Foundation. Her other affiliations include membership with The Fashion Group in New York City. She also holds the rank of Dame la Chaine in the Paris – based, International Gastronomical Society, Chaine de Rotisseurs, and is on the Board of Trustees of a private all girls Catholic High School, Mount St. Dominic, North Caldwell, New Jersey.
